Deported to Sweden
So, the three of you that read this may have noticed I have posted much of late. I had to take some time off to finish a manuscript. When things get close to a deadline I tend to disappear. My family and friends don’t see or hear much from me. I spent last week writing, staying in my office until nine o’clock each night, typing until my fingers hurt. I had Juneteenth off and I was able to spend the day writing. The whole day. What I am trying to say is that everything gets put on hold until the deadline is met.
One of the things that was put on hold was my new project. A year ago my friend Fred came up with an idea of how we could spend more time hanging out. He told me the idea and at first I was dubious, but then I saw the brilliance of it…we’d do podcast. So every other Sunday I have been driving down to his house to Podcast. I arrive with a bottle of Bourbon and a pair of noise cancelling headphones. We spend several hours in his office, drinking bourbon and talking about writing, movies, growing up in Providence and other esoterica. We’ve been doing this for months and recording it.
I took a month off to finish my latest manuscript. While I was doing that Fred was editing, creating art for the episodes and figuring out the best platform to host it. Friday I sent the manuscript off to a good friend who reads the manuscripts and edits them so none of you know just how bad at this I am. Sunday I went down to Fred’s house and we recorded a couple of hours of podcasts. Then we decided it was time to put it out there in the world.
So without further ado, I present our podcast, Deported to Sweden. If you can’t sleep or life is too exciting and you need to slow down, or maybe you just want to listen to two guys talking about writing and telling stories, it might just be for you. We’re unofficially sponsored by bourbon. Enjoy!
