Writing a report no one cares about.
I am thrilled to announce that Cold Island was selected to be an Amazon First Reads book.
People think it false modesty when I say that I am incredibly lucky to be a writer. My friends say that its my talent that got me here. Sure, there’s something to that. The truth is that had it not been for a lucky break or two, I would have a dusty manuscript and pile of rejections instead of several published novels.

I am reading and listening to The Off-Islander. I also “ bought” Cold Island” on Amazon. I knew you Had to be a Rhode Islander by the references . My favorite writers of all time are James Lee Burke and Robert B.Parker. You have some of Parker’s rhythm, but a voice of your own with Roark. Even though I felt I was betraying Spenser, I am enjoying your writing!

Thank you. That is very high praise to be compared to the likes of Burke and Parker. It was really important to me to write Andy as a realistic character and not a cliche in a genre that is very cliched. If you like the Off-Islander you’re to love the other books in the series because the writing only gets better. Cold Island is a new series but people seem to like it so far. Spenser would understand, he wasn’t always faithful to Susan.
