It’s been busy

Tartiflette
It’s been a busy week. I’ve got a book coming out in a few weeks. We’ve updated the website to reflect that. There’s a whole bunch of promotional stuff that goes along with it. I just finished the copy edits on the new first book in the new series and then there’s all the life stuff too. You know the stuff that is necessary to keep on keeping on. I wrote about some of that in my Substack https://open.substack.com/pub/pcolt/p/what-a-difference?r=43bho8&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true
The super short version of which can be boiled down to this, don’t get so busy that you miss out on seeing friends and family. It’s easy working full time, being a father and a writer to suddenly realize weeks or even months have gone by and I haven’t seen good friends or talked to my brothers. Add to the fact that my Long Suffering Wife is being crushed by the demands of her job.
Well the natural thing to do was cook for friends. Which in this case meant my BFF and his wife (also my friend). Cooking in this case meant making roasted sausage, sauteed spinach with plenty of black pepper, garlic and a hint of nutmeg. The piece de resistance was something new a Tartiflette which is a French comfort food dish. It’s a sort of gratin with bacon, sauteed onions, white wine, sour cream and lots and lots of brie.
It was nice to catch up and nice to take a few hours to catch our breath in otherwise hectic life.
